Evangelos is a dedicated expert in the fields of M&As and maritime law. He has been working in numerous ship management companies in Piraeus and major banking institutions in the U.K. He holds a BSc degree from the faculty of Political Sciences and Pubic Administration of the Athens Law School., an LL.B degree from Cardiff Law School (Wales, U.K) and an LL.M degree from City Law School (U.K.), with specialization on Maritime Law. He is a scholar of Onassis Foundation. Furthermore, he is a qualified attorney both in Greece and Cyprus. He has excellent knowledge and command of the Greek, English and French language. He is also registered on the Athens Bar Assocation, the Cyprus Bar Association and on the Solicitors Regulation Authority (S.R.A) on London, UK as a Registered Foreign Lawyer.
He has considerable experience in handling maritime claims as well as tax evasion cases. His most recent works consist of handling a tax evasion case at which a €4.000.000 penalty fee was imposed by the tax authorities to a construction company for issuance of fake invoices, as well as he represented greek ship owners on auction proceedings of four seized by the banks sister ships. Furthermore, he played an active role on the structuring of a syndicated loan from 3 high-cap. U.K. banks for a major tour operator. Evangelos has also significant experience in advising clients on how to set up business structures so that to have the most efficient tax returns by setting up business instruments in overseas jurisdiction, taking into account the taxation treaties signed between Greece and other countries.
He is also actively involved in tax planning of cross-border transactions relating to international trade and to custom duties imposed on imported / exported goods according to the national and European regulations and directives. He works closely with high networth individuals conducting business or holding assets in Greece. He is also responsible for the implementation and application of the Anti-Bribary and Anti-Corruption Policy of the Office.
